Kitchen Assistant job summary

Newton Leys Primary School opened in September 2016. We are a local authority school in the heart of the Newton Leys development, on the outskirts of Milton Keynes.

We are looking for a kitchen assistant to join our team in September/October.

Our Senior Leadership Team and Governors strongly believe in the value of a fresh, healthy “home-cooked” meal at lunchtime. Our Catering Manager prepares meals on site daily within our purpose-built kitchen.

The duties of these roles will include: setting up the hall for lunchtimes, assisting with food service, washing up, and helping to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area.

Candidates will, ideally, have experience in a food service/preparation environment. They should be familiar with food hygiene standards, and be willing to complete formal food hygiene training. This will be a busy and rewarding role, with the potential to increase responsibilities within the kitchen as the school grows.
