Kitchen Assistant (UCC018BC) job summary

Kitchen Assistant: As Kitchen Assistant you would be working as part of the kitchen team to ensure crockery and cookware is clean and assist with other kitchen tasks in as required.

Working Hours: 9.15am - 3.00pm (with 30 minute, unpaid break)

Working weeks: 39 weeks per year (term-time, plus 1 week)

Skills & Attributes:

Team work: Ability to work well with cooks, catering staff, and Catering Manager in a busy kitchen environment, especially during busy break and lunch times.

Time Management: Being punctual and able to work efficiently to help prepare, serve, and clean up meals within tight school schedules.

Reliability & Responsibility: Showing consistency, trustworthiness, and a good work ethic—important when working around children and food services.

Food Hygiene & Safety Awareness - Desirable, however training will be given.
Understanding basic food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
