About us and the role

Are you looking for a hands-on role in a busy kitchen environment?

We’re seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen and food & beverage teams.

You'll play a key role in keeping our kitchen areas clean, ensuring crockery and cutlery are ready for service, and assisting with food preparation—helping to create a smooth dining experience for everyone.

What will you do?

  • Daily cleaning of all kitchen areas, staff canteens and kitchen corridors
  • The washing of all kitchen equipment for the chefs and all crockery and cutlery for the restaurant service staff
  • Ensure the kitchen is kept clean during service times and that all walk through areas are kept clear of any obstruction and that floors are kept dry.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff

What are we looking for?

  • The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment
  • Ability to follow strict instructions in a systematic and consistent manner
  • Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen health and safety
  • Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all students

Avanti Fields School is a new all-through school which welcomed the first intake of Year 7 students in September 2018. The school is rapidly expanding, and will grow year by year to a full cohort of 1,320. This is an exciting time to join the school as it moves into its new state of the arts building and continues its journey to outstanding.
