Fountain Head House School has a fantastic opportunity for a Secondary SEN Teacher to join our growing school, it would be advantageous if you have a Maths or English specialism. You will need to committed, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to be able to provide a professional support to our school.
Fountain Head House School is a growing Independent Special day school based in Saltash in Cornwall. The school caters for pupils from 4 to 16 with a range of special educational needs.

We are looking for a professional who can demonstrate knowledge of the secondary curriculum, but has the ability to teach all general subjects. to a small class of pupils.
As in independent SEN school we are set up as a primary school throughout all key stages so that the pupils have one teacher for all subjects. We have a of instructors that take subjects for PE, Art, Music and outdoor learning. We are looking for teacher who can plan, teach and assess effectively with specific knowledge of Maths and English Curriculum. It would be advantageous if you have a good working knowledge individual educations plans and education, health and care plans, and have SEND experience.
You will work closely with the school’s curriculum lead to assist with the planning, development and delivery of the secondary education. We are looking for an adaptable, responsible professional that can provide high quality learning for all of our pupils to help them achieve.
To be an effective professional who demonstrates knowledge of the Secondary Curriculum as a whole, of ASDAN qualifications and specific knowledge of the English or Maths Curriculum.
To be able to plan, teach and assess effectively, for a range of subjects with specific responsibility for English or Maths following the school’s planning procedures for secondary pupils who present a range of SEND and whose cognitive ability might be close to or below age related expectations.
To keep abreast of current and innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
To link curriculum intent, implementation and impact knowledge and skills related to Preparation for Adulthood, CAREERS and qualifications.
To ensure that teaching and learning follow the school’s Curriculum Policy including adaptive learning and the Curriculum pathways;
To ensure that pupils make at least good progress from their starting points, that gaps in learning are addressed and pupils reach their potential in preparation for adult life;
To complete all scheduled assessing, recording and reporting events following specified deadlines to show the impact of teaching and learning for each pupil in the class.
