Essential Criteria:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Recent experience of teaching in KS1.

  • A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Commitment to the school’s vision and values.

Desirable Criteria:

  • NASENCO Award or willingness to work towards it.

  • Experience in a leadership role, particularly related to SEN.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate pupils and colleagues.

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and skilled teacher to join our dedicated team at Stone with Woodford C of E Primary School. This is a unique opportunity to combine a part-time teaching role with a vital leadership position as SENCO.

The successful candidate will:

  • Teach a KS1 class for 0.5 FTE (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, and Friday).

Teaching Responsibilities

As the KS1 Class Teacher, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning.

  • Assess and monitor pupil progress to ensure all children achieve their potential.

  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s values.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the broader curriculum and school life.

SENCO Responsibilities

As the SENCO, you will:

  • Lead and manage the provision for pupils with SEND, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

  • Develop and implement effective SEN support plans in partnership with pupils, families, and staff.

  • Provide advice, guidance, and training for staff to enhance inclusive practices across the school.

  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals to secure appropriate support for pupils.

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEN interventions on pupil outcomes.
