KS1 Learning Support Assistant SEND job summary
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated Learning Support Assistant to join our school and support us with our growing SEND needs.
This is a fixed term post starting from September 2022 for one year. The successful candidate must hold English and Maths GCSE level ‘C’ or above or equivalent.
You will:
• Have relevant experience of working with children in the primary years and knowledge of SEND.
• Have understanding of supporting children with SEN.
• Understand how to work under the direction of teachers to support in meeting EHCP needs and IPM targets.
• Be supportive, nurturing, patient and understanding.
• Have high levels of resilience to cope with the demands of the role.
• Be able to develop positive working relationships with pupils, parents, staff and other professionals.
• Be willing to undertake and act on relevant professional development and training.
• Be able to support in the delivery of high quality learning experiences for all pupils.
• Have high expectations of learning and behaviour and inspire and motivate our children.
• Seek to make learning exciting and a positive experience.
• Work well as part of a team.
• Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
