We are looking for a passionate and driven Level 1 Teaching Assistant to lead to breakfast club and to support children both in the classroom and in 1-2-1/small group activities.
You will support students by adopting relevant strategies and techniques to enable them to access the curriculum, engage with their learning, and achieve their full potential.
We are seeking someone who is committed to making a real difference in the lives of young people, both within and beyond the classroom. You will take responsibility for implementing planned learning activities and teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to children’s responses as appropriate. Working collaboratively with a wide range of academy staff at all levels, you will help deliver excellent educational experiences and champion the life chances of all children in our academy.
Through ongoing training and development, you will be fully supported in your role. This is a term-time-only position, ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting children with special educational needs and is eager to grow within a dynamic and inclusive educational environment.
About you:
You will:
- have an understanding of classroom roles and responsibilities, and how a Teaching Assistant supports students in their learning and development.
- be able to engage with students and manage behaviour effectively on a one-to-one or small group basis, using appropriate strategies tailored to individual learning needs.
- be committed to undertake relevant qualifications, e.g. relevant NVQ Level 2/ 3 in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent, first aid qualification, to ensure ongoing professional development.
- demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to show empathy and actively listen when working with students who may require additional support.
- have good planning and organisational skills, especially in preparing and adapting learning activities and support materials to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- be someone with a genuine interest in working with children and young people, and a strong commitment to inclusion and the acceptance of all learners, regardless of their abilities or backgrounds.
