Are you a passionate and ambitious teacher ready for your next exciting challenge? Byron Wood Primary Academy is looking for a dedicated KS2 Class Teacher to join our warm and welcoming team on a one-year temporary contract.

About the Role

As a Class Teacher, you’ll work closely with our senior leadership team to support and inspire every child in your care. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Set high expectations to inspire, motivate, and challenge all pupils.
  • Promote good progress and positive learning outcomes for all students.
  • Deliver well-structured, engaging lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to respond to individual strengths and areas for development.
  • Demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge, ensuring high-quality instruction.
  • Use assessment effectively to track pupil progress and inform future learning.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively to create a positive and safe learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider professional responsibilities within the academy.

Who We’re Looking For

As a key member of the teaching team, you will contribute to the holistic well-being and development of pupils, always ensuring their welfare and safeguarding. Collaboration is central to our approach, and you will work closely with colleagues—including the Reading Lead—to maintain and enhance the quality of teaching and learning.

Has experience teaching in a primary school setting, ideally at key stage 2.

  • Works well as part of a team and understands their role within it.
  • Can manage pupil behaviour positively and effectively.
  • Demonstrates a caring, supportive attitude toward pupils’ welfare.
  • Sets a strong example through personal presentation and conduct.
  • Embraces our values of equality, inclusion, and high expectations.
  • Brings energy, enthusiasm, and a commitment to making a difference.
