What skills and experience we're looking for

At Hatfeild Primary School, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to flourish. Situated in the heart of Lower Morden, Hatfeild is a vibrant, inclusive and nurturing school community where children are encouraged to develop academically, socially and emotionally in a caring and ambitious environment. Our motto, “A place to grow: Flourish at Hatfeild”, underpins everything we do.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, reflective and committed KS2 teacher to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner who places children at the centre of their teaching and who believes in creating classrooms where all pupils feel valued, challenged and successful.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate high expectations for all learners;
  • Create engaging and purposeful learning experiences;
  • Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues;
  • Embrace our core learning behaviours of respect, motivation, teamwork, perseverance and focus; and
  • Be committed to ensuring every child achieves their full potential.

Hatfeild is proud to host an Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP) for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and inclusion is at the heart of our practice. Staff work collaboratively to ensure that children from the ARP are meaningfully included within mainstream classes and wider school life wherever appropriate. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to embrace inclusive teaching approaches, adapt learning effectively and work closely with support staff and specialist colleagues to ensure all pupils can thrive within the classroom community.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent classroom practice and strong curriculum knowledge;
  • Understands the importance of adaptive teaching and inclusive provision;
  • Is committed to professional growth and collaborative working;
  • Brings energy, creativity and warmth to the role; and
  • Shares our belief that every child should feel safe, happy and successful at school.

What the school offers its staff

In return, we offer:

  • A welcoming and supportive team;
  • Enthusiastic and engaging children;
  • A strong culture of collaboration and professional development;
  • Opportunities to work alongside experienced SEND and ARP practitioners; and
  • A school community that values wellbeing, inclusion and positive relationships.

Visits to the school are warmly encouraged. We would be delighted to show you what makes Hatfeild such a special place to work and learn.
