What the school offers its staff

The Headteacher and Governing Body are looking to appoint an exceptional practitioner to this friendly, aspirational, inclusive and happy primary school, judged to be Outstanding for Quality of Education, Behaviour and Attitudes, Personal Development, Leadership and Management, and Early Years provision by Ofsted (February 2025; see full report here). Knollmead is part of the Coombe Academy Trust and teachers are able to benefit from cross Academy working, support and professional development opportunities.

We are very proud of the learning that takes place at Knollmead, in particular consistently achieving above the national average for the percentage of children achieving at greater depth/higher standard alongside our exceptional support for children with additional needs.

“Knollmead Primary School provides an exceptional education for all its pupils. Inclusion and ambition are central to its ethos and promoted by everyone in this close-knit community. The school’s curriculum is rich and ambitious.” Ofsted, February 2025

“Staff are happy and very proud to work at Knollmead. They appreciate the huge efforts leaders make to develop them professionally and promote their well-being.” Ofsted, February 2025

“I love that training and development [at Knollmead] are followed through. In previous schools, this was often a box-ticking exercise and a true waste of time. I rarely feel we are doing anything just for the sake of it here - everything has a purpose and a reason. New strategies or ways of teaching are based on thorough research, carefully considered, and then properly implemented. Everyone is expected to embed these in their classroom practice, which ensures consistency and results.” Class teacher

“It has been a fantastic opportunity to work with such a knowledgeable team at Knollmead. Expert teachers are always willing to help and give advice on any questions I may have concerning teaching and learning or assessment. At the heart of the community is to continue to learn together and because of this ethos I have gained a lot of experience and have been able to continuously grow in my practice.” Class teacher
