The Grange Academy, a Junior School in Letchworth Garden City, is seeking a full-time KS2 Class Teacher to join our supportive and vibrant school community. This fixed-term position will begin in September 2025 up until August 2026, with the potential for an early start (June/July 2025).. As with other fixed-term arrangements, there may be further opportunities available to extend this contract.

The Grange Academy is part of the Agora Learning Partnership, a Multi Academy Trust specialising in primary schools across Hertfordshire.

Core purpose:

In this role, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning in line with the school’s aims, enabling all children to make progress and achieve their full potential. Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the needs of individual pupils, considering their physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development.
  • Assess and record pupils’ progress, using this information to inform your teaching and ensure all pupils are supported to achieve their targets.
  • Provide feedback to pupils on their work, both oral and written, and help them set and review goals for progress.
  • Collaborate with support staff such as teaching assistants, ensuring they are fully utilised to support learning in the classroom.
  • Maintain high expectations of behaviour and promote a positive, safe learning environment.
  • Report on pupils’ development and progress to parents, colleagues, and external agencies as required.
  • Promote positive working relationships within the school community, fostering collaboration and mutual support.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including attending staff and team meetings and actively supporting school initiatives.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and committed Class Teacher who:

  • Has a passion for teaching and a desire to see all pupils succeed.
  • Has strong communication skills and the ability to create a positive classroom environment.
  • Is able to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the overall success of the school.

What we offer:

  • Guaranteed PPA time each week to plan and prepare high-quality lessons.
  • Flexible working opportunities – we are open to discussing working arrangements that suit your needs.
  • The possibility of further positions becoming available during or beyond the fixed-term post.
  • Access to peer reviews, school improvement support, and personalised professional development through the Agora Learning Partnership.
  • A welcoming and collaborative staff environment with a focus on staff wellbeing, including protected time after school on several days each week.
