What skills and experience we're looking for

Governors of Sparken Hill Academy are looking to appoint a permanent KS2 teacher to start in September 2026 (earlier if possible).

Sparken Hill Academy is an amazing environment to work in with fantastic children, warm and committed staff. We believe in the wellbeing and success of each individual child and learning and teaching is at the heart of all we do. We have the very highest expectations and aspirations for all of our pupils. Candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the school to fully appreciate all that we have to offer. Tours of the school will take place from 23rd February until 4th March.

The successful candidate must have high expectations, a commitment to securing outstanding progress for all learners, excellent interpersonal skills which motivate and inspire children to achieve their very best, effective communication skills and the ability to work in partnership with all members of the school community. An interest in ICT / Computing or PE would be highly beneficial.

Additionally, our new teacher must have a strong commitment to providing rich and challenging learning experiences across the school; a thorough understanding of how children learn, plus the drive and ambition to make a difference. These attributes alongside having a great sense of humour are all essential attributes for this role.
