KS2 to KS3 Transition Teacher job summary
We are looking to recruit a teacher who can specialise in teaching incoming Year 7 pupils, accelerating progress in English and Maths, bridging gaps in learning between KS2 and KS3. Pupils who join the school with KS2 data below the national average receive a personalised programme of study in Maths and English. We have developed this strategy over the years and it is currently delivered by an experienced member of staff. Moving forward, we are looking to expand capacity in this area.
The University of Birmingham School is an 11-18 all-ability school for approximately 1200 pupils. This post would especially suit a primary school teacher interested in working within a secondary school, or a colleague with experience working in a middle school. The role will consist of teaching KS3 English and Maths, though the nature of this would depend on the experience of the candidate.
We will have high expectations of you to be an outstanding role model committed to the distinctive ethos of our School, where we strive for academic excellence, underpinned by character education. In return we can offer:
Professional Development: We are committed to your growth. You will benefit from ongoing professional development, with additional training days to enhance your teaching pedagogy.
Research & Development: Enjoy 3 dedicated days per year to focus on your own research or professional development.
World-Class Resources & Partnerships: Access cutting-edge resources, research, and professional networks through our collaboration with the University of Birmingham.
Support for ECTs: If you are an Early Career Teacher, you'll receive excellent support and guidance to ensure a successful start to your career.
Enrichment Opportunities: Be involved in our exciting timetabled enrichment programme, making a meaningful impact beyond the classroom.
