L2 Teaching Assistant job summary

Tudor Grange Primary Academy Hockley Heath is a thriving one form entry school, for children between the ages of 2 and 11. We joined the Tudor Grange Academies Trust in January 2022 and we appreciate the opportunities for wider collaboration that we now have.

Our school is located on the border of the south of Solihull which means we serve other surrounding areas including Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Birmingham.

Our setting is semi-rural and has a village feel. We have an extensive playing field and a Forest School area which the children enjoy using.

We are looking for a strong and positive teaching assistant who is well organised to support with running phonics interventions to improve outcomes for pupils across Key Stage 1 and 2. The candidate would be well supported by an established school team including caring and supportive teaching and educational support staff. The member of staff will also support with lunch cover so we welcome applications from people who are proactive and diligent with behaviour and first aid.

We welcome individuals to site to tour the school prior to making an application. If you are interested in touring the school, please contact the school office to inform us of your attendance on office@hockleyheath.tgacademy.org.uk or 01564 783 161.

Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification for more information.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 10th July at 12 noon. Please note we do not accept CV’s. Please submit completed application forms on MyNewTerm. If you have any queries please contact the school office via email to office@hockleyheath.tgacademy.org.uk.

Interviews will take place Tuesday 15th July, if you are shortlisted for interview.

The recruitment process is robust in seeking to establish the commitment of candidates to support the school’s measures to safeguard children and to identify, deter or reject people who might pose a risk of harm to children or are otherwise unsuited to work with them.
