Essential

• At least 2 years practical experience of supporting children with additional needs and/or EAL, working from and evaluating the progress of children at SEN, SEN K and ECHP against targets, with proven impact

  • Full working knowledge of the Code of Practice for SEN
  • A working knowledge of how to support EAL children within the classroom
  • as well as school policies relating to Special Educational Needs, and Child Protection.
  • Awareness of policies relating to health and safety, equal opportunities, confidentiality and data protection
  • At least 2 years practical experience of successfully implementing and evaluating intervention programmes with SEN/ EAL groups/individuals, with proven impact
  • A good understanding of child development and learning processes

Desirable

• Understanding of data and assessment of pupils

• Evidence of impact on pupils attainment and progress

• Experience of supporting and/or developing other members of staff
