Lead Invigilator job summary

Aldercar High School is seeking to appoint a Lead Exam Invigilator to oversee and support the effective delivery of both internal and external examinations. This is a key role in ensuring the integrity and smooth operation of the school’s examination process.

About the Role

As Lead Exam Invigilator, you will take responsibility for supervising a team of invigilators, ensuring that all exams are conducted in accordance with official regulations and school policies. You will be the main point of contact for the Exams Officer during exam sessions and will help coordinate logistics, troubleshoot issues, and maintain a calm and professional environment for students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the setup and running of exam rooms
  • Supervise and support a team of invigilators
  • Ensure all exam procedures are followed accurately and consistently
  • Liaise with the Exams Officer regarding any incidents or irregularities
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to exam sessions
  • Ensure students are supported in a calm and orderly environment
  • Assist with training and mentoring new invigilators

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
  • Calm, confident, and professional manner
  • Flexibility to work during exam periods, including early starts and varied hours
  • Previous experience in exam invigilation or educational settings is highly desirable

Training & Support

  • Full training will be provided, including updates on JCQ regulations and school-specific procedures
  • Ongoing support from the Exams Officer and school leadership team
