As part of our dedicated Behaviour Intervention Team (BIT), we are seeking three Lead Practitioners to play a pivotal role in supporting students with challenging behaviours; one at Key Stage 2, one at Key Stage 3 and one at Key Stage 4. Job Description:
As a Lead Practitioner within the Behaviour Intervention Team, you will provide strategic guidance and support to students displaying challenging behaviours. Your responsibilities will include offering immediate advice and support to schools, collaborating on behaviour management policies and support plans, delivering specialised training to school staff, and ensuring effective coordination of resources and services. Through your expertise and dedication, you will contribute to creating positive learning environments and promoting the well-being and success of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely advice and support to schools regarding students displaying challenging behaviours.
- Collaborate with educational settings to develop and implement effective behaviour management policies and support plans.
- Deliver specialised training and workshops to school staff on behaviour management strategies.
- Conduct audits of local services and resources for behavioural support, facilitating effective referral for schools.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated support for students.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the welfare of students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Significant experience in behaviour management within educational settings.
- Understanding of behaviour support plans, risk assessments, and inclusive practices.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of barriers children face in accessing formal schooling and the ability to further build and develop the school's/staff understanding and strategies in this area.
- Good time management skills and ability to work collaboratively with the outreach team.
