Lead Practitioner Barnet Early Years SEND Advisory Team job summary

As a Lead Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting early identification and intervention for children with SEND. You will work directly with children, families, and early years settings to deliver specialist teaching, provide expert advice, and promote inclusive practice. This will be in early years settings, children centres, schools and family homes.

This is a varied and rewarding role combining hands-on intervention, advisory work, and training delivery.

About you

We are looking for an experienced teacher who:

Has substantial experience in early years SEND (including working with children with complex needs)

Can confidently coach, develop, and inspire others

Has a deep understanding of child development, inclusion, and the SEND Code of Practice

Experience delivering targeted interventions and training

Is committed to co-production with families and multi-agency collaboration

Brings resilience, warmth, and a solution-focused mindset

A sense of humour and the ability to build strong relationships quickly are essential in this role.
