The Sir John Colfox Academy is looking for a Lead Practitioner in the Maths Faculty to join our fantastic team. Could this be you?
Actual Salary £52,330 - £57,765 per annum (LP5 to LP9)
This job is Full Time and is offered on a Permanent basis.
Approximate start date 01-Sep-2024.
We are looking fora well-qualified and outstanding classroom practitioner to teach Maths and lead an established department that consists of a Head of Maths, a Lead Practitioner and 5 specialist Maths Teachers.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated colleague who could add value to our already successful Maths team. This is a great opportunity to lead a cross curricular Maths department in a fantastic school. As a Lead Practitioner you would also lead on developing and implementing a whole school numeracy strategy, create and deliver interventions for KS3/4 students and support teachers in the department to develop their teaching and learning.
As a Lead Practitioner you would be at the forefront of developing and sharing best practice in Maths learning and teaching, as well as innovating to get the best out of the students and your department. Colfox’s focus is developing teaching and learning strategies that make a real difference to students’ engagement and progress. We believe that action based research is the key to improving teaching and the learning experience of our students and as the Lead Practitioner you would lead one of these action research groups to help improve the students experience and outcomes in Maths.

We have a mentoring system to support leadership skills for those who have not yet had opportunities for this. This is a fantastic opportunity to move into middle leadership or existing middle leader who wishes to take on a whole school area to gain experience and skills required to move into a senior leadership position in the future. Enthusiasm for Maths education and outstanding classroom practice is what we are looking for.
