An exciting opportunity has arisen for an outstanding Lead Practitioner of English, to join Whitcliffe Mount School. Do you have what it takes to provide outstanding teaching and learning experiences in English for students of all abilities? The successful candidate should be an inspirational teacher with a proven track record of driving up standards; a committed and flexible team player who can inspire others to raise aspirations, through an exciting and ambitious curriculum.

As a Lead Practitioner you will be required to guide, coach and inspire staff across the English department, helping them to engage and enthuse learners of all abilities in this core subject specialism. At Whitcliffe Mount, we want all our students to enjoy English and to become confident, independent learners. We want our staff to feel supported and inspired to achieve their personal best.

The successful candidate will work alongside the Director of Learning for English and the school’s leadership team to help develop and transform English at Whitcliffe Mount School.

SHARE Multi Academy Trust comprises of Woodside Green Primary, Heaton Avenue Primary, Luck Lane Primary, Millbridge Primary, Royds Hall, Shelley College, Whitcliffe Mount School and Thornhill Community Academy. A central team provides operational support.

Whitcliffe Mount School

Whitcliffe Mount School is a large secondary school of 1,250 students in years 7 to 11. Our new purpose-built school was opened in 2017 and boasts state of the art, specialist facilities across the breadth of the curriculum. We are located just off Junction 25 of the M62 and in close proximity to, and within easy access of Huddersfield, Bradford and Leeds.

The leadership team are embracing the trust philosophy of “valuing people, supporting personal best” and are embedding these values into their daily practice, and into the vision and aims of the school.
