Lead Practitioner of English job summary

William Edwards School is seeking to appoint a talented English teacher to join our Lead Practitioner team.

The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is highly motivated and has a real passion for English and for developing the subject and the practice of colleagues.

The Lead Practitioner Team forms the backbone of the teaching and learning development work in the school and is well supported by both an experienced Assistant Headteacher and Department Leader. All Lead Practitioners have responsibilities both within and beyond their department and therefore the role provides outstanding professional development opportunities as well as providing an excellent opportunity for an ambitious colleague to develop their leadership skills further. Applicants will be ambitious, enthusiastic, and highly motivated teachers determined to achieve the highest standards for the students that they teach.

The English curriculum has been reconsidered in recent years and English classrooms are well resourced.
