What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an outstanding and committed practitioner to take a lead role in transforming and modelling our Science curricula. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a track record of sustained success in the delivery of Science at secondary level. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to have a significant impact in shaping and refining learning both at school and Trust level.

We are seeking to recruit a Lead Practitioner in Science to:

  • Support the delivery of teaching and learning to ensure it continues to meet the high aspirations of our learners, providing them with the skills, knowledge and qualifications required for success in their chosen next steps
  • Engage in regular training and coaching to support the development of colleagues and to enable students to achieve their full potential
  • Participate in faculty and whole-school/ cross-Trust initiatives designed to ensure the highest quality of curriculum offer

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Evidence of successful teaching outcomes at KS3 and KS4 over time
  • An ability to develop and sustain successful relationships with students and colleagues
  • Evidence of successfully developing the quality of teaching practice of colleagues.
  • Evidence of successful curriculum development
  • Recent, relevant professional development.

The successful applicant will have a teaching timetable of no more than 0.6 FTE and will have the opportunity to work across both schools in the Trust. The role will have a key focus on curriculum design and development as well as empowering subject teachers to successfully deliver the curriculum.
