What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you interested in becoming part of a pioneering Alternative Provision?
Would you like to join the Cranbury College team and make your contribution towards our journey to OUTSTANDING?
Do you want to work in an optimistic and motivating environment, supported by effective leadership at all levels?
Do you have the resilience to work in a dynamic, trauma-informed environment, with pupils that have social, emotional, academic and mental health needs?
If so, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Our school is looking for an experienced, passionate educator to fill the full-time role of Lead Primary Teacher based at our Primary site (College Road). This is a challenging but very rewarding role supporting some of the most vulnerable pupils in Reading. You will be collaborating with a team of teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure that our students receive the best education we can provide.
Key responsibilities include designing effective curriculums, assessing lesson plans, implementing innovative teaching methods, and supporting less experienced teachers in their various roles. To be successful as a lead teacher, you should be someone with a deep understanding of what it takes to teach students effectively. Top candidates will also be excellent leaders and mentors, able to use their knowledge to raise fellow teachers up and make lasting improvements to the school's educational processes. The ability to make the role your own and build strong relationships is essential.
We are a multi-site organisation which includes our College Road Site – Primary and Cranbury Road Site – Secondary. We have an Outreach Behaviour Support Team, offer medical tuition and have a Hospital Teaching Service based at Royal Berkshire Hospital.
What the school offers its staff

At Cranbury College, we believe in a therapeutic and trauma-informed approach to understanding behaviours in and out of the classroom. We believe in educational equity for all learners.
