Lead SENCO job summary

The Cliff Lane Primary School is a highly successful, established school based in Ipswich that is part of a thriving multi-academy trust, ASSET Education. Our children deserve to be in the best schools in the country and we relentlessly drive towards improvement and excellence to achieve this ambition. We seek to recognise and maximise people’s strengths and energy in order to engage everyone in a mission to raise aspirations, improve learning and achieve success.

We build a positive, resilient and empowering culture striving always to do better and aiming for ‘excellence’.

Our pupils will have strong literacy and numeracy skills and talk confidently and knowledgeably about being the best they can be. We will build the skills, knowledge, behaviours and attitudes that enable every individual to be happy, successful and fulfilled. Our curriculum will be irresistible, relevant and life-enhancing for learners and learning pitched so that all pupils are supported and challenged to achieve success.

We are seeking to appoint a Lead SENCO with a passion for ensuring all children have access to excellent educational opportunities. You will be responsible for developing the inclusion provision within the school. No day is ever the same for our school, so you will be adaptable, flexible, resourceful and passionate. Strong communication and organisational skills will be essential. You will be able to work collaboratively with our inclusion team and wider school colleagues as well as external stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who is creative in their approach to teaching and learning, who is enthusiastic, motivated and a passionate teacher and who is able to share their knowledge and skills in order to help our children to ignite their spark and reveal the champion they hold within themselves. This post does not have a teaching responsibility. The person we are looking for needs to have possession of the Master's level national award for special educational needs co-ordinator (NASENCO) or be prepared to complete the award once in post.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response. All candidates are advised to refer to the job description and person specification before making an application. This post will be reporting directly to the Headteacher.

Prospective candidates are encouraged to visit the school. Please contact Claire Pearson on claire.pearson@clifflaneprimary.co.uk or contact by phone on 01473 251604.
