Lead SEND Job Coach job summary

We cater for pupils between the ages of 2 and 19 with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities, on specialist sites and mainstream partnership schools. An exciting opportunity has arisen and from January 2025, West SILC is seeking to appoint a Lead Job Coach, who will:

Lead the ‘Supported Internship’ programme offsite predominantly working within an Amazon Warehouse however this role may develop into further job sectors.

Build strong, stable and positive relationships with our /employers and staff within those organisations. Empowering them to support and enable our interns as future employees.

Support the interns in work placements, helping them gain experience and support them to perform the tasks in the respective roles to employable standards. This includes the ability to break down job tasks into smaller steps building them in a way that aligns with the learner’s pace.

Coach interns on wider soft skills that are needed to thrive in the workplace such as time management, communication, problem solving and travel skills.

The qualities we are looking for include:

Ability to relate well to children and adults and communicate at all levels

Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

Experience of working with learners with additional needs

Develop and maintain excellent relationships with employers and support their understanding of SEND needs.

Appointments made are subject to an Enhanced DBS.
