What skills and experience we're looking for

The Board of Trustees wish to appoint an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to become our Team Lead Speech and Language Therapist. The successful candidate will share our vision and values and be committed to Inclusion; ensuring our staff, pupils and families meet their potential.

This is a new role for the Trust and is one which brings together universal, targeted and specialist support. We expect that the post holder will be able to advise on effective environments, develop staff CPD packages and provide specific support for individual pupils. The successful candidate will be responsible for the supervision of our Advanced Speech and Language Therapy Support Practitioners. We also expect that the postholder will be part of our development team offering expertise within and beyond our trust.

Our aim is to build capacity across our academies. Our Lead SALT will develop academy-based staff to be Communication Champions through staff CPD and regular support networks and communications. Building this capacity will ultimately lead to improve skillset so that we can effectively meet pupils' speech, language, and communication needs.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence and shape practice across our Derby Hub through the use of technology and a part of the Inclusion Service Strategic Leadership Team.

The post would suit a candidate who is looking for a challenging but rewarding opportunity to shape cross services collaboration.
