What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Teacher of Design Technology to join Durham Academy. Wewish to appoint a committed and highly effective teacher to teach and lead across our key stages. Youshould be educated to degree level and hold qualified teacher status (QTS as well as having experience ofteaching to KS3 and KS4.
The successful applicant is expected to facilitate and encourage a learning experience which providesstudents with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential as well as contribute to raising standardsof student attainment. You will be able to demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of teaching, learning andpersonalisation strategies and be responsible for maintaining the highest quality of monitoring andevaluating whilst improving the standard of achievement for all students.
You will be confident in your abilities to effectively teach Design Technology. You will be adept in creatinga supportive, encouraging and safe learning environment for all students.
