Lead Teacher of Psychology job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational and innovative teacher with a real passion for Psychology teaching. This year we have successfully launched Psychology into our A-level curriculum.
We will have two classes in both year 12 and 13 from September. This role is expected to be solely A-level teaching.
We welcome applications from experienced and more recently qualified teachers. The TLR is available to experienced candidates, with a primary focus on developing Psychology within the popular and growing, Cheney School Sixth Form.
You will need to demonstrate that you:
- are passionate about this subject area and continuing the launch into the school;
- committed to securing high levels of engagement and achievement in the subject;
- want to make a positive difference by going the extra mile for the benefit of students;
- have the desire and enthusiasm to play an active and collaborative role in contributing to a strong culture of sharing best practice, resources and ideas within a large Humanities team;
- have the interpersonal and leadership skills required to inspire and motivate colleagues and students;
- are keen and able to embed enjoyment and success in learning.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and obtain any other statutorily required clearance. Employment will also be conditional on the receipt of at least two acceptable references (1 from current/latest employer) and evidence of the formal qualifications required for the role.
