We are looking for a highly motivated, positive colleague to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Humanities faculty so that every pupil experiences a high‑quality, ambitious curriculum and achieves excellent outcomes, with strong character and a sense of belonging. The post‑holder leads curriculum, teaching, assessment and quality assurance across Humanities, and contributes fully to whole‑school improvement in line with Benton Park’s vision: “Together we belong, develop character and achieve excellence.”

Under the direction of the Headteacher (and working closely with the Deputy Headteacher, Quality of Education), the Subject Leader for Media Studies will:

  • Determine the strategic development of the group of Media Studies subjects including curriculum and provision (11-18).
  • Be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of Media Studies, including curriculum delivery, assessment, staffing and quality assurance.
  • Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, students, parents/carers and relevant partners.
  • Fulfil the responsibilities of a teacher as set out in the STPCD.
  • The role exists within the English faculty and will require the post holder to teach English.

As a valued member of our team we can offer you:

  • A commitment to continued professional development
  • An experienced, highly committed and supportive leadership team
  • Auto enrolment to West Yorkshire Pension Scheme / Teachers Pension
  • Free onsite parking
  • Access to a market leading employee assistance programme with some fantastic wellbeing services such as counselling, physical health therapy services, financial advice and interactive self-help content
  • Access to a wide range of discounts from the nation's leading retailers
  • Cycle to Work Scheme

As part of the Moorlands Learning Trust, we are committed to delivering a truly aspirational education for all. Our school vision—“Together we belong, develop character and achieve excellence”—captures our belief in the power of community, personal growth, and high achievement.
