Leading Teacher of Maths - Walnut Tree Campus
The new leading Teacher for Maths will be instrumental in the strategic leadership management and further development of the Maths curriculum Area
The person will be an excellent leader who is ready for a new challenge; they will also be keen to make a difference for all students in a truly comprehensive setting. They will be an engaging, visible leader, one who will win the respect of staff, students and parents. The person appointed will be able to demonstrate strategic leadership and management skills and have the drive and ambition to take Walton High through its next stage of development, building on the departments’ progress score of +0.37 Summer 2024. Above all the person will be energetic, resilient and good humoured.
In return, the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to join a dedicated and experienced Middle Leadership team who, together with the Senior Leadership team, will provide them with outstanding professional support. They will help lead and shape a supportive and dedicated team of teachers and support staff who take great pride in their work, constantly seek new opportunities to develop their expertise and always put the academic and pastoral wellbeing of those within their care as their primary focus.

Walton High opened in September 1999 with 120 Year 8 students on its Walnut Tree campus. Since then it has grown year-on-year to become one of Milton Keynes' most successful and popular schools. It has been a privilege to be part of the school’s history. From its very beginning the school’s educational ethos has been rooted in the belief that an excellent education ignites a lifelong desire for learning; that it not only provides a young person with the skills and attributes needed to make a living and contribute positively to society, but also enables them to live happy and fulfilled lives.
In November 2016 the school entered the next phase of its development with the opening of its Brooklands Campus. By 2022 both campuses will have approximately 1500 students on roll, including Post-16.
