Learning Behaviour Lead job summary

Are you an exceptional, creative individual who really wants to make a difference to the education offer for our most vulnerable learners?

Do you want to be part of an organisation that is solution focussed and strives to understand all of its learner’s needs?

Across the county our mainstream schools are seeing an increasing number of pupils with SEND and behavioural needs struggling to cope, with little support available. Despite being a small remote school we are keen to ensure that all pupils receive the best education offer we can give. With this in mind the school is looking to appoint a Learning Behavior Lead to work alongside its dedicated and committed community of pupils, school staff and families to help pupils reach their full potential.

This position is for 30 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

As a school we focus on the Shotley Bees that include aims like: ‘Being Ready’,’Being respectful’ and ‘Being kind’. Our overall aim is that children leave us with the self-confidence, skills and strategies they need to succeed in the next step of their education. To do this we work together to help pupils identify their barriers and find solutions to overcome them and become the best version of themselves they can be.

We would like to encourage applicants to apply who:

  • Have a proven track record of working with pupils with SEND and/or behavioural need.

  • Understands the SEND system

  • Is calm and solution focused when faced with challenging situations

  • Has a toolkit of researched based practices for improving behaviour and overcoming barriers to pupils learning.

  • Has the ability to support and coach others in these methods.

We can offer you:

  • the chance to be part of a small community that is part of the much larger ASSET family.

  • passionate and spirited children.

  • an opportunity to work with a friendly and skilled team of support assistants, teachers and leaders from across the Trust

  • a network of support across 14 ASSET schools and external providers

  • ongoing professional development to further flourish your career, including opportunities to be supported into HLTS and teaching roles.

Visits can be made available on request via admin@shotley.org.uk. Please return completed applications by email to the same address.

ASSET Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
