What skills and experience we're looking for
About us and the role
We are looking for an inspiring and compassionate Learning Coach to join our school and play a central role in helping every child flourish. This is more than a support role, it’s an opportunity to shape learning experiences, nurture confidence and ensure that each young person feels valued, understood and capable of success. At the heart of our Trust is the belief that every child is unique and incredible, and as a Learning Coach you will help bring that belief to life every single day.
Working closely with teachers and school leaders, you will support children in the classroom, through small group interventions and, where needed, individual learning support. No two days will be the same. One minute you may be encouraging a pupil to overcome a learning challenge, the next helping a group develop their confidence or supporting a child to regulate their emotions and re-engage with learning. Your positive, proactive mindset and commitment to inclusion will help create the high-achieving, connected and caring environment that defines our schools.
If you are passionate about education, believe in the power of strong relationships and want to grow alongside a team committed to enabling every child to be the best they can be, we would love to hear from you.
What will you do?
- Develop strong supportive relationships with children both individually and in small groups, understanding individual needs, strengths and support required.
- Observe, learn and adapt from different learning approaches and implement new practices from Trust and school CPD and training to continually evolve the way that we support, teach and encourage our children.
- Provide learning support to children with special needs or where English is not their first language, to support progression in line with their peers.
- Build understanding amongst parents and carers about the unique and important role they play in their children’s education and the impact they can have on both educational success and their children’s wellbeing.
- To work alongside the teacher to find, access or contribute resources needed for lessons, including individual adaptations and reasonable adjustments planned for children with SEND in their Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
What are we looking for?
- Evidence of strong communication skills; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Evidence of child-centred attitude to all you do; Ability to relate well to children and adults to build and maintain effective relationships
- Experience of general administrative work e.g. photocopying, laminating and the ability to work well within a team
- Ability to work with teachers to observe, monitor and provide constructive feedback on children’s progress
- Commitment to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school
