Learning Coach - Humanities job summary

🌟 Join Our Humanities Team as a Learning Coach

Are you passionate about empowering young minds through the humanities? We’re seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Coach to join our dynamic academy, working closely with the Humanities Department to support students with diverse learning needs, emotional and behavioural challenges, and those who may feel disengaged or isolated.

This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping students thrive academically and socially—particularly through subjects such as History, Geography & Religious Studies. You’ll collaborate with our SENDCo, Senior Leadership Team, and humanities teachers to deliver targeted interventions and nurture student growth.

📚 What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to develop literacy, critical thinking, and social skill
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies within humanities lesson
  • Delivering personalised learning activities and nurture-based support tailored to humanities topics
  • Collaborating with humanities teachers and external professionals to implement Individual Education Plans
  • Supervising students during lunch and academy activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, curiosity, discussion, and respectful debate in humanities learning environments

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with students and families
  • Understanding of behaviour management strategies and SEND support
  • Willingness to undertake CPD and specialist training, particularly in supporting humanities learning

📌 Role Details:

  • Salary: £19,232 per annum
  • Term-time only: 32.5 hours per week
  • Working hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm
  • Permanent contract
