What skills and experience we're looking for
- Knowledge & understanding of students with Autism & speech, language & communication needs;
- An understanding & interest in SEN, with experience in working with pupils requiring additional support in accessing the curriculum;
- The ability to ensure aspirational pupil progress for all pupils, regardless of their prior attainment, which is usually significantly below age related expectations;
- The ability to work effectively within a team, providing direction to support staff delivering targeted intervention programmes. Overall responsibility (with the agreement of the Head of Education) for the development of the intent, implementation and impact of the Reception and Key Stage 1 curriculum and to work with colleagues to ensure pupils have the resources necessary to begin to access the school’s curriculum independently
- Sustain high quality teaching such that 90+% of learning and teaching is judged good or better
- Agree targets with the Head of Education and implement timely and appropriate intervention so pupils meet or exceed targets set. .
- Obtain and respond to the views of pupils and stakeholders so that pupils feel safe, enjoy their education, develop and make good progress
- Provide professional support to the staff team , to secure staff commitment and high quality experiences for the pupils (e.g. lead staff meetings / INSET)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, flexible and innovative learning leader to help set up and lead our brand-new Key Stage 1 provision.
Our new Learning leader who will be able to adapt well to new challenges and be committed to raising achievement and have the ability to demonstrate outstanding practice and high ambition for our pupils. The successful candidate will be someone who is especially skilled in differentiating planning, implementing additional support programs to meet pupils’ specific needs and who is able to effectively manage a support staff team.
