What skills and experience we're looking for

Are you passionate about supporting students to excel in their learning journey?

We are thrilled to invite applications for a Learning Mentor to join our growing academy as we welcome our next cohort of students this September. Our team of Learning Mentors provide support to our students in lessons, identifying their strengths and difficulties.

The successful candidate will carry out effective intervention, which may be 1:1 or in a small group, planning appropriate personalised interventions as necessary. You will support teachers to enable our students to access learning by supervising and assisting them across a wide range of supported learning activities.

As our Learning Mentor you will:

  • Undertake activities with individuals or small groups of students.
  • Enable our students to access learning.
  • Promote the development of students’ physical and mental health.
  • Carry out pre-planned activities.
  • Monitor the progress of identified students.
  • Promote and help build students’ self-esteem.

Experience in a similar role would be beneficial, as would the ability to manage the behavioural difficulties and pastoral needs of individual and groups of students.
