About the Role

The role of our Learning Mentor is to provide specialist support to pupils with special educational needs, for example, learning, behavioural, communication, social, or sensory, or those who have other barriers to learning. This role is based primary in our enhanced and bespoke provisions, working with children who are educated partially or wholly in provisions separate from the classroom. The role is also to support pupils back to working in the classroom and increase their independence with accessing learning and social activities. This role forms part of the inclusion team. Working alongside an exceptional and supportive team of professionals, you will be relentless in the pursuit of excellence and your mission will be to empower the children to develop excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support for pupils with SEND and SEMH needs, including supporting individual plans.
  • Help deliver structured group activities, adapt resources, and track pupil progress under teacher guidance.
  • Support pupils’ emotional and behavioural development to promote inclusion and confidence.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
  • Work as part of a team, under the direction of the Inclusion Manager to support pupils who require personalised and bespoke approaches
  • Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.
