What skills and experience we're looking for

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Learning Mentor to join our fantastic team at Chorlton High School.

This is a Grade 4, permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus 5 INSET days. The pro-rata salary is £22,006 and the full time equivalent is £25,584.

We’re looking for:

The ideal candidate will hold the suitable qualifications, and have experience in working with children of a relevant ages as well as children with additional needs. They will understand the principles of child development and learning processes, and have full working knowledge and understanding of national/foundation stage curriculum and other basic learning programs/strategic processes and barriers to learning, including behaviour management strategies.

Main purpose of the job:

Under the guidance of the SENCO and the Teacher, the Learning Mentor will take responsibility for addressing the needs of students with additional needs for them to be able to access the full curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.

All members of staff (Teaching, Safeguarding team, Pastoral team, SENCO, SLT), students, governors, and parents.
