Join Our Forward-Thinking School as a Learning Mentor (Executive Functions)

Are you passionate about making education accessible to all children? Do you believe that "kids do well if they can"? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our innovative and inclusive school community.

At Kettering Science Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every child can succeed. We understand that behaviour is often a lagging skill, and we focus on relational practice and training to help children's brains become the best versions of themselves through the development of executive functions. Our approach is grounded in the belief that with the right support, all children can thrive.

About the Role:

As a Learning Mentor (Executive Functions), you will play a crucial role in supporting children who face barriers in accessing their learning due to lagging skills in executive functions. You will mentor children, support them in lessons by working alongside them to put into practice strategies that will help them be successful, and deliver targeted interventions to help them develop essential skills such as planning, organisation, time management, impulse control, flexible thinking, and emotional control.

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of an ambitious journey to make a real difference in children's lives.
  • Work in a school that does things differently, with a focus on relational practice and innovative approaches to education.
  • Join a passionate and hardworking inclusion team dedicated to supporting all children.
  • Benefit from excellent support and resources to help you succeed in your role.

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking committed and resilient individuals who are eager to be part of a school that values inclusivity and innovation. If you have experience working with secondary school-aged children, a strong understanding of behaviour management strategies, and a passion for helping children develop their executive functions, we would love to hear from you. This role could also be suitable for graduates who are looking to move into a teaching career.

What We Can Offer You:

  • Daily allowance for breakfast and lunch.
  • A modern building with fantastic facilities and resources.
  • A supportive and friendly community of staff and students.
  • A full induction programme.
  • Access to BWT Ambition Hub training and development programmes.
