Learning Mentor job summary
About the role: Mascalls Academy are seeking to appoint a Learning Mentor to join their vibrant team as soon as possible. If you are currently looking for a role which allows you to support students by using innovative methods to develop their learning skills, please continue to submit an application! As a member of the Learning Support Department, you are responsible for supporting children with Special Educational Needs in a classroom environment and working with staff and pupils to promote whole school incentives.
Working under the direct instruction of the SENCO, your role would be to support access learning for pupils and provide general support to teachers in the management of students. Learning Mentors need to be able to respond positively to change in order to meet the needs of students and help them overcome particular barriers to their learning.
If successful, you would be part of an organisation that enjoys a great reputation in the area and one that will develop your career; we have a fantastic track record and there are numerous opportunities for professional development. If you are committed to providing a first class education experience, then we want to hear from you.
This is a full time (37 hours per week), permanent position offering an actual salary of £15,221 per annum based on Term Time + 1 week of inset (FTE £18,039).
GRADUATES: If you are a graduate and considering a career in teaching, then a Learning Mentor position could be the ideal way to gain classroom experience and decide if education is right for you. As a graduate, you would undertake the role, normally in your specialist subject area, and work closely with a mentor to maximise your learning. If you decide to commence your teacher training we will put you in touch with our recommended provider, KMT who will help with your application and guide you through the process.
