Yarnfield Primary School prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that enables all our learners to reach their full potential. In this role you will be pivotal to helping us achieve this aim through supporting the social, emotional and mental health well-being of our wonderful learners. You will work directly with learners on a one-to-one and group basis to improve their academic progress and learning, liaising closely with colleagues, families and outside agencies, building positive collaborative relationships with each. You will develop strategies to improve punctuality, attendance and behaviour and lead on extra-curricular activities to promote learner engagement.
To be successful you have proven experience working with young people, ideally from a primary setting. You must also have a working knowledge of SEMH and associated difficulties, a sound knowledge and understanding of child development and the issues relating to social exclusion. You will also have knowledge and understanding of the methods of setting realistic programmes for disaffected and underachieving children. Additionally, you will have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills and must be able to work creatively with children to help them reach their full potential.
