Learning Mentor job summary
We are looking for a Learning Mentor to join our team here at Purple Oaks Academy!
About the role:
The successful Learning Mentor will support Teachers to ensure that pupils engage more effectively with their learning and help increase levels of achievement through appropriate provision. This is a great opportunity to combine mentoring skills whilst working in a supportive environment with both individual pupils and small groups.
The ideal candidates will:
- be able to demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies
- be well organised and have high expectations of achievement and behaviour
- have the ability to engage constructively with and relate to a wide range of young people from different backgrounds
- possess excellent communication skills, at all levels
About us:
Purple Oaks Academy is a special free school for students with autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties. All students who attend the academy have an Education, Health and Care Plan. The academy currently has 122 students on roll, 8 of whom are placed in our Post 16 provision..

About us:
Our purpose-built building opened in January 2018 and will provide 100 places for students (3-18) with a diagnosis of autism and/or Severe Learning Difficulties. The Academy currently has 94 students on roll from Reception to Year 10 and will grow to 100 in September 2021 with Reception to Year 11.
