Learning Resource Centre Manager job summary
Are you an experienced library professional with a passion for literacy and learning? Do you have a proven track record of fostering a thriving reading culture in a school setting? If so, we encourage you to apply for the position of Learning Resource Centre Manager at Tring School.
As Learning Resource Centre Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our school's learning resources and for developing and contributing to a whole-school reading strategy working alongside the school’s Reading and Literacy coordinator. You will work closely with teachers and students to promote reading for pleasure and academic success.
Main Areas of Responsibility:
Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a whole-school reading strategy and culture
Manage the school's learning resources, including cataloging, circulation, and collection development (books, digital resources, equipment etc)
Create a welcoming and engaging learning resource centre environment that promotes reading for pleasure and academic success, ensuring pupils use the facility responsibly
Promote reading for pleasure through events, activities, book clubs, author visits, and reading challenges
Collaborate with teachers to integrate reading and learning resources into the curriculum
Provide reader's advisory services to students, recommending books and other resources based on their interests and needs
Monitor student reading progress and identify students who require additional support
Manage the LRC staff
Manage the learning resource centre budget

The successful applicant will have:
Experience working in a school library or learning resource centre
Excellent knowledge of children's and young adult literature
Strong organisational and communication skills
Passion for reading and learning
