This role is to work in our Toucan class, our specialist childcare provision for 2 year old's. We are designed specifically for children with complex needs and provide an accessible and appropriate first early years experience.
We provide an environment which is safe, stimulating, nurturing and accessible. Children and their families are at the centre. Time, care and support are all priorities. We consider what children and families need and build provision around this.
We are a team of exceptional practitioners working as part of an extensive multi-disciplinary team of specialists. Our area of expertise is working with very young children who have complex needs. Toucan is led by an experienced and skilled team with specialist knowledge of early child development.
Children are supported to move on to their next setting by the staff team in Toucan who will also write each child’s detailed observations, two year report and play passport.
Willow Dene is a large special school in Plumstead for children aged 2-19 across two sites. Willow Dene forms part of the exciting Compass Partnership of Schools and is a charitable trust of 15 schools across Greenwich and Essex that work at one to achieve the very best for all children and communities. We aim to inspire all children to engage confidently with the world and develop the knowledge and skills from across the curriculum that enable them to thrive. By working as one, we maximise the knowledge and skills of all the adults in our schools. We share the very best practice and learning from the research that will make a difference to the progress and achievement of all children. This partnership provides immense opportunities to develop the quality of provision and outcomes, and the sharing of good practice. We are a research-engaged community and are constantly seeking new and innovative ways of developing teaching for learning.
We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant who will work as a member of a class team as well as part of the wider school team.
