Learning Support Assistant
Location: Challney High School for Boys
Contract Type: Fixed Term, Term time plus five training days
Hours of work: 35 hours per week. The working day will start at 8:30am and finish at 4:00pm, with a 30 minute break.
Salary: L3 - Actual salary starting from £19,558 per annum

We are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant with good literacy and numeracy skills. Working within our Support for Learning Department the successful applicant will:
- Support the teaching and learning of individuals or groups within the classroom and on occasions in withdrawal situations.
- Contribute to the monitoring, recording and assessment of pupil progress.
- Contribute to the planning of teaching and learning for the whole class or individuals.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Special Educational Needs.
The ability to use ICT would be an advantage but not essential as hands on training is available.
Purpose of the post
To work with class teachers and colleagues in the support for learning team, in all aspects of teaching and enhance learning opportunities for pupils.
