Learning Support Assistant job summary
We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work, under the guidance of our SENCO, with our students in individual, small group or classroom-based settings to support progress across the curriculum. You will have a genuine passion and belief in the potential of every pupil and be able to relate to young people and adults within the learning environment and be versatile, resilient and able to adapt your practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages. The successful candidate will also contribute towards the provision of care, guidance and support for our students.
This role is offered on a fixed term basis for 1 year, working for 37 hours per week, term time plus 5 development days (39 working weeks).
Ormiston Chadwick Academy opened in Widnes in September 2014 serving the community of West Widnes. Our Academy is large enough to offer an outstanding curriculum but small enough to have a strong community ethos in which all students are known and nurtured to achieve their potential.

Our ideal candidate would:
- Have excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels
- Have a good standard of education to GCSE level in English & Maths
- Possess good ICT skills
- Be reliable, conscientious and committed to supporting students in all aspects of learning
- Be enthusiastic with the ability to relate to young people
- Understand the importance of this role and be a team player
- Be calm, but with a good sense of humour
