Learning Support Assistant job summary

We are seeking to employ a Learning Support Assistants to work within either EYFS or KS1 providing whole class support and intervention support for those children who require a little more or supporting pupils on a shared 1:1/small group basis to develop social interaction skills and and behaviours that enable them to access the classroom with adapted curriculums.The post is advertised initially on a fixed term basis but there is potential for this to become permanent.

The school has been praised for is inclusivity and practice by external agencies and has a good relationship with the parents of the children it supports. Support is always available and we offer 'tag team' approaches when working with challenging behaviours so support is available for both staff and pupils.

  • are efficient, conscientious and enthusiastic

  • have a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification

    experience of working in EYFS or with children with SEMH needs and/or ASD

  • believe that all children have the potential to do well.

  • have a calm and organised approach to working

  • are capable of working with and taking advice from external agencies

  • are confident, calmand assertive in dealing with challenging behaviours

  • are interested in helping children to develop positive learning behaviours

  • can adapt to duties and responsibilities as per the needs of the pupils in your care

  • good English and maths skills
