Learning Support Assistant job summary

We are looking for a motivated individual to join us as a Learning Support Assistant. In this deeply rewarding role, you will work alongside an exceptional team to promote inclusion, wellbeing, and academic progress for SEND, EAL, and disadvantaged students. The successful candidate will have:

  • An understanding of specific learning needs and styles to differentiate support to pupils
  • The ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook, and provide support to students in using these tools.
  • The ability to plan effectively to enable multi-tasking
  • A desire to help all pupils succeed
  • Compassion towards the needs of the pupils.
  • The ability to exchange verbal information clearly and sensitively with children and adults
  • The ability to work with a range of colleagues

The successful candidate will become part of an oversubscribed, flourishing school for girls aged 11 to 18, with confident, courteous, articulate students and an ethos of empowerment.       The Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls is a non-denominational academy secondary school and sixth form for girls aged between 11 and 18. It is located in Romford in the borough of Havering, London. The number of pupils is approximately 1,300.

      The school was established in 1906 by Frances Bardsley with the aim of providing free education to the local girls. Formerly across two different sites until 2003, it became The Frances Bardsley School for Girls in 1972 and converted to academy status in 2012.
