What skills and experience we're looking for

With a focus on supporting our increasing number of students with special educational needs, we are excited to be able to offer a range of opportunities for individuals to join us in the role of Learning Support Assistant.

Join our existing team of staff to support in this area, the roles will provide essential support in our general classrooms, in our Personalised Learning Centre and in our dedicated and specialised inclusion facility.

You will be required to work with individual children, having special or particular needs, in accordance with the child’s statement where appropriate and/or groups of children as directed by the teacher. You will also provide support to the teaching staff across a range of child-centred activities to promote child development and learning.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 GCSE’s to include English and Maths from grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent or be able to demonstrate a willingness to work towards achieving these qualifications. The ability to travel between the two campuses is considered essential.

Providing a valuable and meaningful opportunity to support children who have difficulty in accessing their learning, the roles also support a stepping stone for those looking to progress their career. Future promotion opportunities include our Specialist and Senior LSA positions, through to our Higher Level Teaching Assistants and / or transition to our teacher training programme to become a fully qualified teacher.
