Learning Support Assistant and Wraparound Care Leader job summary

We are seeking a friendly, organised, and motivated individual to join our team in a dual purpose role as a Learning Support Assistant and Wraparound Care Leader (2.5 days per week).

Monday & Tuesday 8am - 5.45pm (Wrap around Care Leader, 8am - 8.45 am & 3.15pm - 5.45pm, Learning Support Assistant 8.45am - 3.15pm)

Wednesdays 8am - 12pm (Wrap Around Care Leader 8am - 8.45am, Learning Support Assistant 8.45am - 12pm)

22.25 hours per week, Term Time only (38 weeks per year)

FTE salary £24,790 (SCP5) to £25,183 (SCP6)

Actual Salary £12,491 (SCP5) to £12,689 (SCP6)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children's learning in the classroom under the guidance of the teacher.

  • Assist with planning, preparation, and delivery of classroom activities.

  • Provide support to children with special educational needs (SEN).

  • Promote health, hygiene, and positive behaviour.

  • Help supervise children during outings and short teacher absences.

  • Support classroom organisation, tidying, and display preparation.

  • Liaise with parents and external agencies as needed.

Wraparound Care Duties:

  • Lead and plan engaging activities for breakfast and after-school clubs.

  • Maintain online registers and booking systems via Bromcom.

  • Ensure children’s wellbeing and safety, administering first aid when necessary.

  • Report finances termly and maintain communication through newsletters.

  • Complete required safeguarding and first aid training.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Enjoys working with children and values learning and development.

  • Calm, flexible, organised, and a strong team player.

  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

  • Has prior experience working with children (preferred).

  • Maintains integrity, confidentiality, and strong communication skills.
