Learning Support Assistant Apprentice job summary

Miers Court Primary School is seeking to appoint two Learning Support Assistant Apprentices, to start from January 2026.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils learning and development across all areas of the curriculum. You will work closely with Classroom Teachers and experienced Support Staff, you will assist with individual and small-group activities, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment. Your contribution will also extend beyond the classroom, supporting children during playtimes, school events, and other wider learning opportunities.

This is a part time, term time only role, paid pro rata to the apprentice national minimum Wage. This position is fixed term for 18-22 months, for the duration of the apprenticeship course.

The working week will consist of 30.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute unpaid break each day, as well as allocated study time outside of work for the completion of apprenticeship coursework.

The successful candidate will undertake on the job training alongside studying towards a Teaching Assisting & Learning Support qualification.
